The Foundation shall be a public, non-profit, charitable organization, operating without any commercial or profit motive. Its properties, funds, and income shall be applied solely for the purposes outlined herein. The Foundation’s office shall be located in India, with the flexibility to relocate or establish additional offices at any location as determined by the Board of Trustees.
Objectives:
- Research and Development: To undertake, promote, and support research and development activities, including the establishment and maintenance of laboratories and experimental centers. The Foundation may assist or collaborate with government, semi-government, private institutions, and universities to advance scientific research and innovations, particularly in agro-based industries. This includes providing or contributing to the remuneration of researchers, professors, and technical experts, as well as offering awards, prizes, scholarships, grants, and sponsorships to students and others to encourage innovation and excellence.
- Advancing Knowledge, Research, and Education: The Foundation undertakes and promotes research, innovation, and academic excellence by supporting scientific and technical research, educational initiatives, and skill development. It engages in book and journal publications, organizes conferences, seminars, webinars, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), and research conclaves, and provides educational consultancy services. In addition, it offers scholarships, awards, grants, and sponsorships to students, researchers, and professionals, collaborates with institutions, government, and private organizations, and undertakes programs for employee and community welfare, knowledge dissemination, and capacity building, both nationally and internationally, in line with its non-profit, charitable objectives.
- Education and Scholarships: To establish, maintain, and operate educational institutions, schools, and hostels for the benefit of employees, ex-employees, their dependents, and the wider community. The Foundation may also provide grants, awards, and scholarships to support education and learning.
- Business and Corporate Support: To promote or assist companies whose activities may directly or indirectly benefit the Foundation or advance its objectives. This may include acquiring and holding shares in such companies and guaranteeing payment of their debentures or other securities.
- Consultancy and Training: To act as a consultant, adviser, agent, broker, or administrator, offering incentives, schemes, and training programs. These initiatives may be conducted independently or in collaboration with individuals, firms, or corporate entities in India or abroad, focusing on professional development, side projects, entertainment, and personal growth.
- Financial Instruments: To draw, make, accept, endorse, execute, issue, and discount promissory notes, bills of exchange, debentures, warrants, and other negotiable or transferable instruments.
- Investments: To invest and manage the Foundation's funds not immediately required, in such a manner as deemed appropriate by the Board.
- Employment and Welfare: To appoint, engage, remunerate, or discipline employees, agents, managers, and other personnel. The Foundation may provide financial assistance, donations, pensions, gratuities, provident funds, or other benefits to employees or their dependents.
- Employee and Community Welfare: To promote the welfare of employees and their families by building or supporting housing projects, providing financial assistance, or contributing to provident funds and other welfare initiatives.
- Special Funds: To create and maintain depreciation, reserve, sinking, insurance, or other special funds for property maintenance, capital amortization, or other purposes conducive to the Foundation's objectives.
- Trade and Industry Support: To support associations, institutions, or funds related to trade and commerce, particularly for protecting the interests of owners, employers, and employees against financial loss, accidents, or other adversities.
- Industrial and Labour Support: To provide financial aid or assistance to organizations addressing industrial or labour issues and promoting trade, industry, or economic development.
- Corporate Promotion: To remunerate individuals or entities for services related to the subscription, placement, or promotion of shares, bonds, debentures, or other securities of the Foundation or associated companies.
- Intellectual Property: To acquire, develop, and utilize trademarks, patents, copyrights, designs, know-how, and other intellectual property useful for the Foundation's objectives, and to grant licenses for their use.
- Collaborations and Partnerships: To enter into technical or strategic collaborations with governments, institutions, banks, corporations, or individuals to advance the Foundation's objectives.
- Study and Training Programs: To authorize study tours, commercial visits, or training programs in India or abroad for enhancing technical expertise and organizational development.
- Charitable Contributions: To support, subscribe to, or guarantee funds for charitable, benevolent, religious, scientific, or public institutions, initiatives, or ventures of general utility.
- Global Operations: To carry out any authorized activities, either independently or in collaboration with companies, firms, or individuals worldwide, as agents, trustees, or partners.
